Pluot Labs is an early-stage eCommerce startup that helps runners to learn, discover and buy running shoes.
How can we make it fast and intuitive for runners to find their match of running shoes?
As a product designer, I was involved in the end-to-end design process for Pluot MVP. I worked closely with key stakeholders.
85% of people wear running shoes that don't fit. A running shoe should protect the feet against injury, but should not do the work of the foot by providing excessive cushioning and lots of extra support in the arch. Ultimately, the right pair will fit well from the start and complement the running style. With so many brands and styles of shoes on the market today, it is important to find the best fit for feet and running needs. There is no โright shoeโ that fits all runners.
Scope: Research, UX design, Prototyping, Usability testing Platform: Responsive Web
To better understand what information is important when choosing a pair of running shoes, I talked with runners, running coaches, and physical therapists and looked at other online shoe retailers such as Zappos, New Balance, and Asics.
